Forum Rules and Guidelines - Matthew - 01-06-2025 Below are some rules and guidelines on what is expected when participating in discussions here at The Layer.   1.  Respect the Print Bed (Respect Everyone) Treat all members with respect, kindness, and professionalism. No harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks will be tolerated. Constructive criticism is welcome, but be respectful in your feedback. 2. Stay On-Topic (Stick to Your Layer) Keep posts relevant to 3D printing, crafting, or making. Use the appropriate categories or threads for your topics. Off-topic discussions are allowed in designated areas (e.g., "Cooling Fan Lounge"). 3. No Warped Prints (No Spam or Self-Promotion) Avoid spamming the forum with advertisements or excessive self-promotion. Links to personal projects, shops, or websites are allowed only in dedicated spaces or with prior approval from moderators. 4. Support Each Other (Help with Troubleshooting) Share your knowledge and help others troubleshoot their 3D printing challenges. Be patient with beginners as they learn the ropes. 5. Credit the Creator (Respect Intellectual Property) Don’t post or share others’ designs without proper attribution or permission. Discussions about model piracy or sharing paid content for free are strictly prohibited. 6. Mind the Heat (Keep Discussions Civil) Avoid heated arguments or debates that go off-topic or become disrespectful. Use the "cooling fan" feature (take a break) if needed. 7. Print Safely (Share Safe and Legal Content) Do not post or discuss illegal, dangerous, or inappropriate content, including unsafe printing practices. Moderators may remove content deemed unsuitable for the community. 8. Optimize for Quality (Post Thoughtfully) Search the forum before posting to avoid duplicate threads. Provide clear titles and descriptions to help others understand your topic. 9. Respect the Mods (Follow Moderator Guidance) Moderators are here to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. Please respect their decisions and requests.
