  What Printer(s) Do You Own?
Posted by: Matthew - 01-18-2025, 04:58 PM - Forum: Printers and Hardware - No Replies

The most basic requirement to being into 3D Printing is to have a 3D Printer.  What types of printer(s) do you own and why did you make that choice?

I started out with an Creality Ender 3 KE.  I chose this as it’s a highly publicized brand amongst starter and printer groups on Facebook.  It worked well and taught me how to troubleshoot a lot of my problems.

I upgraded to a Bambu P1S due to the high reliability for printing and the reputation they have.  The P1S with the multi color function really has been game changing.  I have over 500 hours with maybe 5 failed prints during that duration of time.

If I expand my fleet, I will probably get an X1C for the spaghetti detection and advanced AI sensors.

  Hello!
Posted by: Matthew - 01-18-2025, 12:27 AM - Forum: Makers’ Meet - No Replies

Hi everybody,

My name is Matthew and I am the creator of the 3D Print Layer or "The Layer."  I've been into forums since around 2008.  In 2024, I got into 3D printing and started with a Creality Ender 3.  Eventually, I upgraded to a Bambu Labs P1S and haven't looked back.  I thought it would be cool to create a community where people can share their prints, get help, and come together over a shared hobby.  Additionally, I welcome other maker hobbyists to share in their creations.

Aside from printing, I work as a human resources professional, enjoy gaming, spending time with family, and riding my motorcycle.

I'm excited to meet everyone and see what you have made!
